SAFARI OPTION V:

03 days / 02 nights trip to Tarangire NP, Lake Manyara NP and Ngorongoro Crater:

Day 01: Tarangire NP.

Departure Moshi / Arusha by our special 4X4 safari vehicles at 08.30am for game viewing at Tarangire National Park with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge or Campsite.

Meal Plan: {L, D}

[Tarangire National Park is spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife species come back to the permanent waters of Tarangire River. Huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and Oryx gather to stay in Tarangire until the onset of the rains when they migrate again to good grazing areas. The park covers approximately 2600 square kilometers and, in the dry season, is second only to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife. Tarangire lies to the south of the large, open grass plains of southern Maasailand, and derives its name from the Tarangire River, which provides permanent water for wildlife in the area].

Day 02: Lake Manyara NP.

After early breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing with packed lunch boxes. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or Simba Campsite.

Meal Plan: {B, L, D}

[Lake Manyara National Park has a wonderful mosaic of different habitats, which attracts a whole host of animals including a high density of elephants. Look out for monkeys, antelopes, zebras and hippos too. There are also lions and some have developed the unusual behaviour of climbing trees for their afternoon snooze. However, they have not mastered the art of dragging their kill high into the branches, as the leopard is so adept at doing.

Birdlife is fascinating at Lake Manyara and numbers are at their peak during the rainy season when seed-eaters, insect-eaters and waterbirds thrive. Nomadic quelea (finch-like birds), gather in breeding flocks of many thousands and fly across Lake Manyara National Park in vast twittering clouds. Pelicans, storks, geese, herons and cormorants share their water world with migrant flamingoes, which come and feed on the algae rich water and turn the crystalline edges of the soda lake a vibrant pink].
Day 03: Ngorongoro Crater.
From morning game tour in the Ngorongoro Crater for full day tour with packed lunch. Thereafter transfer back to Arusha or Moshi.

Meal Plan: {B, L}

[Strangely enough the Crater is sometimes visited by the Maasai with their cattle who are capable of co-existing and sharing the rich grazing with the wild animals. Young Maasai warriors - (Moran) – escort their herds and protect them from lions and leopards, which in the olden days; they had to kill in order to prove their manhood].

Day 01: Moshi to Lake Manyara NP.

Departure Moshi at 08.30am from Moshi or Arusha, and transfer by our special safari vehicles to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing with packed lunch boxes. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Hotel or Jambo Campsite.

Meal Plan: {L, D}
